Judy Schwartz-Naber
I'm the daughter of Maxine, who lived with severe and chronic mental illness in suburban Chicago, Illinois over fifty years ago. I have a BS in Corrections from Illinois State University. I spent the bulk of my professional life working with adolescents in crisis, mentally ill of all ages, addicts/alcoholics, and men who batter their partners. I also live with mental illness. I've chosen to live in my retirement a simpler life, working in a retail store and enjoying a sustained period of recovery. I write to address the stigma surrounding mental illness.
