Animals make wonderful friends. There are even times when they’re better than humans in providing companionship! They keep us company through thick and thin, they help guard our home and cars, and they even assist us if we’re incapacitated. Thus, you need to return their love whenever you can. And one way you can reciprocate their affections is by promoting their rights. Below are ways you can do that.
Adopt a Pet
If you don’t have a pet yet (or you already have one but you what to take home another), then you might as well adopt one. Visit the nearest animal shelter, and bring one of the dogs or cats there home. Not only would you be able to promote animal welfare by doing so, but you’ll also gain a new furry companion.
Don’t Use Animal-Based Products
Or at least limit its use. These animal-based products took the lives of many animals to get manufactured, and the growing demand for them has only made things worse. By refraining from consuming these products, you’ll be able to make a stand for the animals who have been harmed and killed to satisfy human wants.
Be a Good Pet Owner
Dogs can live up to 15 years, and cats have an even longer lifespan. But no matter how long their lifespan is, they won’t live long if you don’t take good care of them. So aside from providing them your kisses and affection, you also need to make sure they’re well fed, sheltered, and loved.
Support Animal Organizations
But if you want to play a more active role in promoting animal rights, go support the organizations advocating it. Volunteer in groups like CARA Welfare Philippines and get involved in their activities and programs. You can also donate money, supplies, or even your used car to these organizations to help them on their way to promoting better rights for your furry buddies.
Spread Awareness
There are many ways to share your newfound advocacy with others. Aside from the classic word of mouth, you can also promote animal rights through social media. The latter option will help you reach out to more people, but the former will make it more heartfelt. Both are effective in promoting animal welfare to people.
